My understanding is that the VS ecotech engine puts out around 130 kw as standard and the VX ecotech 152 kw as standard, what parts make for the higher out put on the vx ??
I ask because my VX has cracked heads and I have been offered VS heads to replace them and want to know if the valves and ports are the same I will use my existing inlet manifold etc etc.
Thanks in advance.
VS Ecotec is 147kw, not 130. VT is also 147kw. VX and VY are 152kw.
Ok thanks for that I guess the small difference is in the ECU
The differences are just an upgraded engine management system, so the VX can allow individual spark control on each cylinder unlike VS and VT.
The VX inlet manifold is different also, not sure if its interchangable on older models though. If its not, i'd say you wouldn't be able to use the VX heads.
VS and VX heads are the same so are interchangeable without any problems. Also a VX inlet manifold will still bolt on the same with the VS heads fitted as the VS and VX inlet manifolds are physically identical, with the only difference being in the location of the pcv valve where it connects to the plenum.
