what car should i blow my money on part 2
okay you people really need to listen. im on my LEARNERS. so i got a year and a half to worry about getting my car back to a p plater standard, i dont want my car to stand out from the rest and be loud and stuff so's i have less chance of being pulled up. UNDERSTAND!? now i'll explain something.. on my LEARNERS, i can drive virtually ANYTHING i want, so long as it isnt towing a trailer. now, what car should i get, and i dont want a bloody 3l or 3.3l or whatever, i will have a 3.6, or a 3.8, or a falcon even, i dont care. dont go talking shit because im younger then you and what not, dont rule out ANY car or ANY modification EXCEPT turbo/supercharger because i have the money to spend on it.

VS exec. V6 auto. good stereo. Just cruise around until you have a handle on cars and can legally mod a car.

right now i can legally mod a car. its when i hit my p's (in roughly 1 year and 11 months) that i cant use a high performance vehicle. and i dont want an auto. i'd rather a manual so i can get used to driving a manual, then get a license to drive a manual so im not restricted to auto's

thank you john. what kind of falcon do you suggest? e's or x's? i've considered xd's and stuff, but havent looked into them much to see how the run or anything, however i know somebody who used to have an xd, and they said they thrashed the **** outta it, and never did much to it except top up the oil (not change, top up..) and change spark plugs and minor stuff like that, but said it ran right up untill the slammed it into a kangaroo at about 140km/h

So you dont mind having a car that you mod on your L's but then cant drive when your on your P's? Just buy a manual falcon or commo thats in yuor price range. When it comes down to it, any manual commo or falcon will be fine for you. If you go a falcon get an EL

well if i got the money for it why not?? besides, if im really tight for cash i'll swap my car for my dads vx while im on my p's. so think of it as if right now, i have my FULL license, and i want to get a car, to do up, but preferbly a 6. and i have about 9,000 to do so any suggestions?

oh and then theres that other idea i had, my mate recently blew up his mums vr s2, i could prob pick it up for about $1000, and then buy a reco engine/manual box for it, get it all done, i got it quoted and im apparently lookin at around $2000 to get that done, do the math, thats $3,000 for a vr manual with reco engine and box.. then i'll have $6,000 to spend on whatever i want...

I am telling you this for your own good, we have all been there and done that. So your going to spend all this money on a car that a) will get driven only when someone will take you and b) can't be driven when you get your P's. Smart move Einstein.

Buy a manual AU Falcon. You can take it or leave the advice but it's the best large car you will get in your price range and you will be able to get a MINT one for well under 9,000, it wont cost you much in running costs etc

nah dude im just saying, im sick of people like air strike telling me to do shit like save my ****in money for a house or whatever, i still live at home, and if i really wanna i can move out when im like 23, my dad dont care how long im here for, so right now, my #1 priority is a car. i cant understand why people cant just understand that, like seriously, if i were 30, and had a house, and had $10,000 to spend and posted a thread on here about it, im sure i'd get allot better answers then "Why not save the money to spend on something worth while, like a block of land, house, appartment, etc Then once you are off your P's you will have the money to go nuts." besides, my mum works for cavaleir and is pretty high up, i only see her like once a month so i dont know exactly waht she does, so anyway i'd prob end up getting a good decent sized house built for about $250,000 instead of the average $350,000 houses down here.

**** me airstrike. ****kk me. your a dumb **** arent you, dont consider the options A) my dad can take me out any time between 5 and 10pm, my mate matt can take me out from (Depending on day) 8 onwards as he works in a cafe so therefore doesnt work late often, latest he works is 10 which is only like twice a week. and then i got another mate, who is on his p's, so he can drive me out to the old gormy airstrip, and i can cut sick there. B) if i cant drive it on my p's, my dad will drive it, and i'll drive his stock vx, WHICH I HAVE ALREADY STATED.

i dont get it. Your throwing all this money into your first car... Youve got a shitload of cash to spend on it, and WITHOUT A DYING DOUBT the car wont be around for long (as 99% of people on this forum's first cars werent), so tell me, as a learner wats the use of having such an expensive car is? Is it for the higher insurance? The higher cost to fix when its damaged etc or to show off to mates? I dont get it, im 17, ive had 5 cars, (most ive bought then sold back off) but your first car is the one you do all the stupid shit too. You paint the dash, you wire in neons, you thrash it about, when u **** a panel u go to upullit spend $50 and its replaced then you learn what a car's value is and how to take care of it. AND WHEN you break it or it dies for whatever reason, you look back and think jeez lucky i bought just a vn / vp or w/e instead of a VY cos if id broken that it woulda been worse off. Its awesome to have a nice car, but theres gotta be learning stages. If you seriously want a nice car get mid-range, grab a vr /vs in GOOD condtion, dont **** around with getting conversions and shit done etc. Enjoy the car learn about it, show it off, and then move on... Nobody expects you to have a brand new car on your p's. thats my 2 cents take as u want.
if you dont want a holden 6 (vn-vs), get a ford ef/l. best to find one with a tickford engine, cos the normal ones are far more gutless than the tickford engines. el fairmont ghia's are god damm sexy. all come with tickford engines too. i know they dont come in manual, but you have the time to do a manual conversion anyways if you want one. btw, ford autos are crap and sluggish and dont do skids very well haha.
