Hi everyone! I just purchased an alarm for my car to increase the security for my car and the stereo gear. So I bought a Python 902 because it has a remote that tells you when the alarm goes off (within 1/4 mile).
Now I've just got it home and I just remembered that because I'm with Just Cars that I need to have a 2-point immobiliser that I'm sure has to comply with AS/NZS 4601:1999. Does anyone know much about Python alarm and whether this would be ok with my insurance? Because I don't know much about car alarms.

The vx berlina already has an alarm and passive immobiliser which I believe is 3 point, which should meet the standard you have quoted. are you installing this yourself, dont know whether you intend your new alarm to be as well of rather than instead of. Could be tricky with the immobilisation part.
I ended up calling Just Cars and they said my policy requires an Australian Standard system. Well the Python system doesn't comply, doesn't have all black wiring, so I had to take it back. Instead got a Cyclops system with 2-point immobilisation, glass break sensor, window closer, battery back-up and still uses the factory remotes. Also bought a piezo (screamer) for the car, 120dB of treble in a confined cabin is gonna hurt the ears.
