Rare/Weird holdens

Just remeniscing about the HSV jackaroo and thought of other rare and weird holdens like the piazza and HSV XUV (ive only seen 1 ever). There was also the rare HSV SVLE and SV120 which were the predessors to the senator.

Do you guys know of any other peculier holden/hsv/hdt 's that made it to production?

If HSV jackaroo and XUV didnt sell, makes you wonder why on earth toyota tried it with the TRD HILUX. But we are all laughing now cos TRD didnt sell either and now the brand has been scrapped in aus

i rember skipping through a autotrader one time and seeing a senator wagon 2000 something model dont know if its rare or what but it was diffrent

well there were the vt series 1 senator estates, but that was in the late 90's and were the 5litre. the next hsv wagon i suppose was the avalanche which way vy so about 2003ish, which obviously wasnt a senator.

When did you last see a Holden Drover or Holden Scurry?

The Drover was a Suzuki 4wd and the Scurry was the dreadful little Suzuki van built during the late 80's or early 90's and sold as Holdens when Holden was in financial strife and flogging anything off with Holden badges. It was around the time of the first Apollo/Camry, so I guess it was the late 80's.

Thankfully, by now they have probably gone where all dead Suzukis go. (Drink Can factory)

very interesting about the hsv vx wagon, i am a wagon nut and had no idea it existed, apparently there was a vy senator estate too, i would like to see one

There has been quite large debates on the matter of if the cars actually exist or not...but apparently there were 2 VX HSV Senator Estate wagons made...

Most people in the know have said those VX estates are just VTs with VX front bars.

No such thing as a VY Senator estate. There was a guy who bought a VY clubby that drove off the back of a truck without the ramps, and put it into a wagon, and HSV recognised it as a genuine HSV.


I'll give you a rare car. HDT IRS! 1 made (yea yeah, not HSV, but still holden)


Also VL Berlina, wasn't the VL Corsa made in bigger numbers? Not sure of the actual name tho...

Wasn't the corsa just a mock up from the opel corsa? plenty of those opel corsa's over here in NZ, wonder how hard it would be to drop a VL front on it?

being a wagon fan, i am really interested to see a picture of this one and only vl sandown wagon. ive tried to find it on the net with no luck. anyone know anything about it. apparently its been thrashed, even if it has i would actually consider buying it and restoring it. Any help greatly appreciated

saw a sandman in the trader hz i think??? that had a 4x4 chassis on it supposably factory anyone know much about these?

they were put onto a land cruiser chassis, there was a wagon, ute and panelvan done of these by a separate company.

Yeah ive seen a pic of the red one from behind in a mag.
The wing is pretty out there.
