Hi Guys,
Did a couple of searches and can't find this topic anywhere..
I bought my car with stone chips/marks in the headlights. I tried to get rid of them with polish.. didn't work. Then used 2000 grit sandpaper and wet-sanded. Felt really smooth as i was doing it but when they dried they were very cloudy. Then used my scratch removing polish on them, this reduces the cloudyness a fair bit but still cloudy.
Anyone have a fix for this??
Cheers,
Dave.
new headlights
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
there is a lense restore product available it doesnt make them new but makes them better you could also try a good buff and it will take a long time to get the scratches out.
Nobody wants to play with me
thanks jatsvl, i'll probably try a few polishes and just buff away. spend some time and should come up good.
Cheers
let me know how you go ive got the same problem
you have effectively scratched the s**t out of em, albeit fine scratches
i would be googling "remove scratches from glass" and see what you find,
otherwise i would be heading to ebay for a replacement set of headlights
Try toothpaste with a random orbital(polishing pad). Worked on my RX2 windscreen![]()

Aeroguard, spray that crap on and im told it works.Im yet to try it though.
new ones. and what minux said
try pulling the headlights out and pulling apart the headlight and cleaning the glass, had the same thing on a fairlane i had worked great
clean
wet rub 2000
3m mini orbital 3000 wet
at least 2 grades of polish
hand polish
if that doesnt work, and you still dont like them i would have to say new ones.
but not for lack of trying
any good crash shop will be able to quickly wet buzz 3000 them for you for fark all and you do the rest
good luck
cheers
