Default Extending range of central locking

I was just wondering if there's a way to boost the range of my central locking, or at least make it a bit stronger so that it will unlock from the same distance every time, rather then being a bit hit and miss as to the distance from the car before it unlocks. Will replacing the batteries bring the key back to how it would have been when it was first released?

    Thanks

Ive noticed the newer the battery, the better it is. My gf's new car and our new work van work perfect and 20 times further away then what my vy ss key does. sometimes im right up on it and press it several times before it works.

A little trick to try, hold the remote up to your adam's apple and press the button. Keep moving away from the car until the unlock button doesn't work normally then do it against your adam's apple.

Yeha those last two post are true, placing the metal tip of your keys on any part of your flesh makes your body turn into a large antenna effectively almost doubling the central locking range.

There is or was a video on youtube of Jeremy Clarkson demonstrating how he can double the range of the central locking system on his car by holding the remote to his head.
