Engines on could it be the diff?

Today took the car for a drive with a few freinds and the car made a bang from the rear. The engine light came on thinkin due to extra weight and a old diff she blew some teeth would that cause the engine light to come on and gear box to not change gears, unless i turn it on and off and it changes till it finds the teeth missing. Maybe if i blew some Teeth in the diff it would cuase this. If ne 1 has ne idea or help or even how much it may cost give a email or something chears dave

I'd say if the engine light has come on, chances are it is more the gearbox then the diff.

yea i have come to that tested the ECU every thing come back as fine got 12 back but engine light still comes on

you could have no diff and the engine light still wouldnt come on, totally unrelated.

sounds like you broke something expensive

apartently jsut 2-3 changing solinoids will be gettin replaced tommorrow and go from there
