Hey guys, i was driving down the road, and as usual was not listening to my partner, in anger she ripped up the handbreak in our VY series 2 commodore.
Now i have noticed a clicking sound that sounds like a universal joint click when i turn, but only it is coming from the rear of the car, how i figured this out is that there is a delay from when i turn to when load is placed on the rear wheel. it happens when i am turning RIGHT, and it is the LEFT REAR wheel making the sound, so it's the outside wheel with the longest travel that is making the noise.. please help
Just went out and jacked up the car on both sides, with left rear touching ground and right rear suspended, there is no sound either way that i turn the tyre, same as right wheel on ground and left wheel up on jack, no abnormal sound, the brake cable seems to move freely too :/

you need to remove the disc to check for any damage with the handbrake ,the only other thing that clicks when on its way out is bearings but that would be unlikely
As for your girlfriend try Dr PHil lol
Is she still your girlfriend? Coz she shouldn't be![]()
Mate if your missus doesn't pay to get that fixed, I'd be getting rid of her quick smart, that's not cool at all.
:my: Exactly what i was thinking..Some dangerous sh!t...were you going very fast at the time?
could be one of the CV joints on that drive shaft. just a stab in the dark.
Speaking of stabbing in the dark, that girlfriend of yours.....do you keep knives in the kitchen?
lol
OMG shes crazy if my missus did that to my VZ I would be livered, I would have that fixed imediently because it could get worse. Is it possible that when it happened the brake was slightly applied meaning that the brake is rubbing on something?
Anyway good luck mate.
1) ditch the girl
2) take the car to a good mechanic
3) find the bitch and bury her

Worst my gf has done was driving my car and the handbrake collapsed and the wheels couldn't turn because the bits of metal got all caught up in the axle. The car got all jerky and acted funny, maybe s tiny piece has come off aswell?
Get someone to give her the clap, and your even.
Failing that, hit her, then do a barrel roll.
Pictures of the girfriend please
I had three things to show when mine got pissed off
1) a hole in one of my speakers
2) a scratch on the bottom of my front bumper
3) a red handprint on my face
I was gonna say your handbrake might just need adjusting, but thats more of a rubbing sound than a click.. hmm, hope its nothin major dude
Haha, you see the thing is, she is pregnant with our second baby.. so ****, i guess im screwed in that department.. lol, nuh we were doing about 20kmph max.
Her excuse was, i've seen you do it all the time in the other cars, lmao their the other ****in cars but.
and yeah, i dunno, it could possibly be the front, but the lag between when i steer and when it comes on seems to be when the rear is under load.. but it sounds exactly like a cv join sound, just at a very high ratio... like 1 wheel spin might be like 5 clicks/clunks maybe.
have to ask, did u leave her where u were, kick her out? i would have, make sure she never gets in it again at least
If it is the front, it's possibly me, from my driving style, i like to hit right hand turns nice and hard.. but i hope its not, lol i hope she did it. the only problem is our incomes are one in the same..
my missus drove home with the handbrake one once....( twice at least i think) however we have to kids. atleast the VS beeps if oyu leave the handbrake on
hope you get your problem sorted (car problem that is) and goodluck with the pregnancy![]()

I'm thinking shes stretched the handbrake cable and somethings rubbing.
Keep the girl though if shes worth it.... just make her polish ur head for it![]()
I'm sticking with left driveshaft CV joint.
Just remember man, pregnant chicks have crazy hormonal stuff going on, I've been in your position before, I know it's hard, but you have to give them benefit of the doubt..
