ok ive got about 3000 grand and im wondering if 3000 grand or maybe a bit more if i can get it would be enough for a 5ltr and manual conversion i cant do it myself so i would have to get someone to do it
if three grand isnt enough how much would it cost
I bought a full manual conversion from a mechanic for $1000. He offered to install it for $2700, and I'm pretty sure that included purchase price.
Where do you live? I can do a T5 conversion in your driveway for a good price.

Gees 3 grand would come close to a 6 speed kitlittle bit more for Mortons fuel a spanner work and your set
yer but i need to buy a 5ltr engine and get that installed aswell all for under 3 grand
is this possible
ah okwell that should be about right, you can get a whole rough car for about 2500 so should be doable, get morton to bring one over from Melbourne :P
now if i went through all of this would i need to upgrade diff, suspension, brakes or should i be alright
lol Greenfoam, I should start an interstate mobile Manual and 304 conversion business
You'd need V8 brakes (1" master, bigger rotors, bigger finned calipers + pads), and V8 springs (technically, but you can get away without the springs). The diff should be fine, I think some V8 diffs had shot peened gears, but I don't think you'll need them. BW diffs tend to be pretty hardy to start with.
Then you have to consider Morton's petrol bill for carting a trailer full of tools interstate
... however, I should have some time off work in a month![]()

of course mate was goin to do it my self but not a lot of exeriance in newer model cars just lookin for a helpin hand also i have the stuff but its VN i just need to change the lower control arms on the K-Frame to make it fit a VS right the motor outta VQ an the box outta a SS also lookin maybe convertin my VN exec to V8 auto but not shure wanna sell it in bout a year an its a 5 speed thinkin that it should sell to a p plater if i keep it a 6 cause im gonna put the full VQ interior in it
The original poster. Your S2 VP should have the bigger brakes allready. Diffs the same, Lukes putting 360 rwkw and 700+ Newton meters through non shot peened gears so you will be right. To make it exactly like the V8 setup you would change front springs and add a 1 inch master cylinder
Ahhh ofc, Series II had the V8 brakes standard. I wonder if you'd only have to change one side of the wiring loom. The other end should, in theory, all be the same so long as you grab a loom from a VP V8. Series 1 VN looms would have had too much patchwork missing.
