In my 02 VX commodore, ive decided to make a sub box to house my 2 JBL 1500watt subs.

The box took me 2 weeks to complete, spending a total of $58 on materials. Including glue, wood and silver sheeting.

The box is sitting at a 45 degree angle to leave the largest possible room in the boot for the wife's shopping.

The silver sheeting was used to match the colour or the car. Whilst the Chevy badges where stuck on as it looked bear.

Powering each sub is a 1300watt amp. I have 2 because they where on ebay for very cheap, 2 is always better than one I gathered.

And finally my sony explode deck that runs the whole show. What are your thought on my set-up? *addition* I also have 2 pioneer 400watt 6x9's in the parcel shelf. Pictures coming soon.

Nice looking box there mate, is that small red cable coming from underneath the amp the power cable?? (6th pic). If so, man you need to get some proper power cabling.....you went with good subs and a good box, dont skimp on the rest.....buy a decent monoblock to power those subs and get a 4AWG power cable kit. Trust me, it'll sound 10x better

I understand those amps were cheap, but if you keep your eyes out on Ebay you can find a decent 400-600wrms monoblock there for a hundred or two.

well my sound system is that good but anyway here goes
Kenwood indash DVD
rockford 6 inch splits in front doors
rockford 6 inch in back doors
rockford t400 amp for speakers
2 rockford T2 15inch subs in custom ported box
2 rockford t1500 amps to power subs.

Still have to upgrade battery, alt and wire to zero gauge to run subs at full power lol


I think its kinda loud when u can drive past cars and alarms go off....
Will update with a Db reading after the next sound off cant wait...

thought for my first post id share my system
i have a clarion 7 inch double din dvd player
rockford fosgate door speakers front and back
rockford fosgate tweeters
rockford fosgate p400-4 amplifier
2 15 inch rockford fosgate p1 subwoofers
goes hard loud as hell

Well my system is stock besides the head unit I just got. deciding on what to do with the rest yet... want it all factory looking besides the deck of course. Mines a calais so I got 8 speakers, which 2 of thoses are factory subs.

The Double Din DVD does in well with the Calais it looks mint in your car.

Im running pretty simple setup for now

IDA-X300 Alpine iPod Headunit
Kenwood 1000w Monoblock
Kenwood 1200w 12" Sub.

Lookin at a set of splits powered by my 200w amp i got
and a new set of rear door speakers.
