I guess its the v8 grunt that causes them to break, especially with 33s.

So you used the rangie suspension gear (until you broke it) with the patrol housings, centres et al.

Thats a good combo, there's a guy on our Auszookers forum who's custom coiled his sierra LWB, on LR radius arms, but custom work everywhere else. He raves about the bushing system on those arms, particularly in comparison to the Patrol setup.

Going out for a run on Sunday close to town. A few pics I took on a recky run to survey the conditions (one blokes coming from K town to come, so I don't want it to be undrivable/unaccessable)

Posted em to whet the others appetite on the other forum:

The weather is cloudy with a chance of bogging:

That looks like a nasty puddle, the rest looks like a bit of fun.

All I used were the housings, I ground everything off and welded on the RR raduis rod mounts, spring and shock mounts. The Rangie gets it's flex on the front from the bushes being closer together. It has all the Patrol brakes and all the internals though.

I'll see if I can find a couple of pics of the tracks we play on.

Here are a few. Not real extreme, but it's only about half an hour from home.

A few from last weekend, where I got stuck, damaged my rear bar and wished I had a winch:

I think I coulda driven it with 8 psi instead of 10, more nuts and less slip on the rocks, a front locker would be noice too, which might be on the cards soon, I may have tracked down a factory sierra power steering setup, pump, steering box and lines, just need the engine bracket :yahoo:

It all resulted in being pulled up the hill by a Patrol, the shame! :(

Jokes aside, he was a decent bloke (I suppose he owed me a recovery as I let him fix his car with my tools, I suppose someone else had to as well, its a nice feeling when its not your car being wrenched on trailside)

She took the wrong line, drove straight up after changing it.

Does anyone know if Stockton has reopened for driving up in the dunes? i know it was closed appart from the waterline a while ago. also, are there any other spots on the central coast for beach driving?

pretty sure that the lavis lane entry has a gate so you can get in from there but im pretty sure dune driving is still available at the moment in the designated area you can find more info on the worremi conservation area's website :)
Also, there are plent of tracks around the central coast to go wheeling, especially if you dont mind the drive to the watagans. Look up on 4x4earth and search tracks and you will find a few local to your area i'd say.

Marko, those tracks look pretty fun! where abouts are they at?

"Telstra Hill" in Berrimah, halfway between Darwin and Palmerston.

So in other words literally 10 minutes out of Darwin CBD :p

Strangely, whats up the top is BOM, not telstra.

Hills are rare stuff for Darwin, its usually starter motor eating mud.

I'm wanting to drive lots of interstate stuff, such as vic high country and wattos.

Need to get better at driving though, buy a tow car and build a car trailer.

My wife I just bought our first one before Christmas. We have a stock standard r51 Nissan Pathfinder. Haven't done much with it yet. We're newbies to 4WDing so are going to get some lessons and then get out amongst it.
