What Octane?

Hi. I have a 2004 3.8ltr Crewman. What octane fuel should I use? I have been running it on 95 but the cost is getting ridiculous. I can’t find any info regarding whether 91 is ok? Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Stock tune and engine will be fine on 91.

Some did come with the 3.8 Ecotec as the Crewman came out during production of the VY... But the 3.6 Alloytec Crewman seems to be more common...

VY is what you’ll have if it’s 3.8ltr. Has the Ecotec motor.
Not many VY Crewmans around any more.

VZ was the 3.6ltr Alloytec motor. Totally different engine management and engine.

Either way, 91 is fine.

3.8 Ecotec or 3.6 Alloytec, Holdens claim in the owner handbooks both engines will run fine on 91 ULP.

Not many VY Crewmans around any more.

If I was in the market for a V6 Crewman, I'd much rather the VY, and you get that rarity factor too...

What's the cost of reduced KM and poor running quality, for cheaper fuel? Asking for someone else's friend.
