Are you saying you can watch a DVD on the little reverse camera screen in the VF? LoL the world has gone mad.
not when its moving , only the back of seat screens in the Caprice/stato

as for the original question - only thing the VZ/VE has over the VF is the old leather seats were more comfier imo

Problem with car manufacturers like GM, Ford etc is that, unlike the Japanese, they don't like to innovate or improve on their previous models.

thanks for everyone's input, I'm not in any rush to change and still like the old VZ a lot, and it has a bit of work done and still pretty low km's (124k) so lot of life left, still a tough call whether to put any more money into it to keep it nice and maintain it or just trade it in while it's still worth something without spending any more on it.

Dunno about that … they’re prolly half a decade behind in most aspects, but they stay half a decade behind.

Just an opinion. You don't have to agree or disagree

I’d be happy to agree if you can give some examples, but the only examples I can think of are counter-examples … if you were including the Strayan outliers, every Commode was an improvement in the majority of attributes above the one which came before & same with Foulcans. The Mustangs they’ve been selling here for the last decade have seen a couple of improvements. Chrysler had no cash, yet (for example) the 300 was an improvement on the 300C before it.

I should say series rather than model, but even then there isn't a lot of innovation. Toyota introduced hybrid models that are now mainstream. Mazda has its Skyactiv G that automatically disables cylinders when cruising.
The VF has an engine that was basically developed in 1979 (chev V6 60 degree).

Edit: typo

When did Chev or for that matter the VF ever use a V5?

The HFV6 was introduced in 2004, was a ground-up redesign … and the Insignidore had a tweaked version over VF that had a bit more power & used a bit less fuel.

The moo-mang in the VN you could argue was a step backwards in some ways … was an older design than the RB … and it was definitely less refined … but it did make more power & use less fuel, and they’d found themselves in a bit of an undesirable situation WRT the switch to unleaded.
