Don't need to remove the wheel.
Top cover on the column clips off, easy access to the indicator/cruise control stalk.
It will slide out, then unplug it.
I have top and bottom covers off but didn't see any screws to undo. I'll have a proper look when I get home, cheers... :)

No screws! It just slides out to the right.

So tried indicators with lights on and off, no difference. Where the lead from the loom plugs into the stalk I guess. If I push on that the indicator stays on, albeit fast flash so stalk is rooted I guess.
As to the fast flash, who knows...

Amazingly easy..... Once you know how. Thanks heaps. Once I found them 2 flaps to push in it fell out.

Still playing up with RH indication so gonna get a replacement. I see 2 screws so gonna pull it apart. Prob have springs fly everywhere and make this one unusable knowing my luck. Been a **** day....

The stalks are not serviceable so I wouldn't try to dismantle it. If you do actually need a new one make sure it's a gen one. Aftermarket ones only work for 1 - 2 years before they play up.

Do what Lex said before replacing the stalk. Also a good idea to go to Holden spares and grab one for the shelf at some point these will be NLA.
