Hey everyone,
just had an info session for work on windows vista tonight.

Wow, what a waste of money. starting at something like $400 for home premium, all you basically get is windows xp with some visual bling and some extra features aimed at people who are completely computer illiterate. Maybe there will be some better features in the $850 ultimate edition? Not to mention microsoft pimping their new firewall anti spam anti phising program which instead of being bundled with vista is an extra $100 on top of it. Good on microsoft, way to have a monopoly on the world.:bow:

yeah i read a pretty scathing write-up titled "windows vista: all right or just a p!ssweak OS X"

seems they're basically stolen a bunch of features (windows sidebar/ mac dock) and done them poorly.

shame too, as a diehard PC man, i was hoping this might be decent.

Running it here, and have been using it on and off since the Longhorn Alpha's since 2004 I think, I like it and think it's a big step up from Server 2003 (I refuse to touch XP with a 10 foot pole)
