QFM A1RM again outperforming expectations on the track!
    GSL,

The pads arrived and were fitted up just in time for a recent club track day at Wakefield Park.

To be honest, I was absolutely amazed at their performance. They work well from cold and have so far not made any noise. When warmed up (one or two corners at the most), their bite was unbelievable (on my MX5).

It felt like I had the car standing on its nose braking into Turns 2 and 10 at Wakefield!

Their performance allowed me to brake much later than I have previously and I actually had to mentally refrain from hitting the brakes early.

And the best thing, they make minimal dust!

    Regards,
    Tony

The VB-VR conversion hubs use 12mm studs, as all Commodore's till the VE. Now the VE uses 14mm studs. So with this conversion you are mixing 12mm studs with 14mm hole discs. Unless the disc come drilled with 12mm holes, there is rocking on the studs, correct?

The rotors used in the conversion kits are not standard VE rotors, they are specially machined and have 12mm studs.

    Just out of curisoty.
When it comes time for me to replace my rotors, what options are available, am I able to get other brands in 322mm, or am i limited to RDA?

Would be RDA only, who are keeping replacement rotors on the shelf, I am awaiting pricing, but it shouldn't hurt too much...

On a VS, with the conversion it needs to be hacked at a fair bit, but definitly leave it on, just cut it to fit the brakes.

I cant remember if I cut the lip or not.
But where the caliper bolts, you need to cut the top and bottom so it fits, it will make sense once you do it. Just have an angle grinder or a dremel or something handy when you go to do it.

Cheers mate. Are the slotted and dimpled available without the "gold passivated", like the stanadards ones in the kit?

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately custom brake setups aren't something we deal in.

Best of luck finding someone who can help.

    Hi mate,

Were you wanting to upgrade your front calipers, or just pads and rotors?

Ideally I'd go the 298mm VE upgrade kit as per the first post, $895, then get QFM A1RM pads all round ($238 for the vehicle set) and some rear slotted rotors, $149 for the pair. And that will do a bloody good job on the track for the weight of the car!

    Regards,
    Greg

    Hi mate,

Which size rotors are they? Are they the 330 or 343mm fronts?
