i went to autosalon final battle last week-ish and whilst i was there i got a quote from A&B Motorsports for $1400 for fully adjustable coilovers
although i was trying to listen to the guy it was very loud and his english was not the best so i couldnt make much sense.
what i want to know is...
by fully adjustable.. what is actually adjustable.. is it just ride height or does it include the shock strenght the spring strength camber etc
this is just in general about coilovers not being brand specific
is $1400 a good price ? pedders said $1900 fitted
im told that you cannot put any tyres larger than 245's on the back of my car without altering something.. being that the wheel is very close to the shock...
if i install coilovers will they be wider as the spring is over the shock.
i really know nothing when it comes to suspension but i need to get it upgraded
as well as brakes but they will come after
the way i imagine it is.. if i plan on taking my car to the track i can get there lower it stiffen everything up the camber and go and have a fun time
and if im just driving it around i can raise it make it soft for comfort and reduce the camber for less tyre wear.
if this is wrong tell me so.
thanks for taking the time to read this and i hope it made sense to you.
Im no expert either but all the coil overs I have seen have the springs are pretty narrow compared to standard commodore springs.
Usually look something like this.

ahh yes i have noticed that but i had not seen any for an actual commodore ty for pic.
they are so pretty.. and look so much better than normal..
there wouldnt be enough room to put a coil over in the rear, also the upper shock mount in the body wouldnt be stron enough. i would say the rear would have an adjustable dampening shock and a seperate adjustable spring platform that goes in the original position. aslo good price on the pedders as they are $1950.00 with out fitting.
