Default VZ Sway bars and shocks

    Hi mate,

I've got a VZ SV6 and being looking at a few suspension set ups, the plan is bigger sway bars firstly for the rear, then see how it responds and go from there.

Its either going to be the 18mm Adjustable one from Whiteline BHR50 Or
    20mm BHR50X

    any thoughts?

Also my cars lowered on SL's in front and SSl's in there rear, stock shocks.(may return to FE2)
after a stiff ride, with a bit of fun :P

So I'm after a price on rear Koni yellows for a VZ
Also are these height adjustable along with damper adjustable?

    Thanks much appreciated

    Hi mate,

Generally with a RWD you start with the front sway bar first, but on those two, BHR50 is $165, and BHR50X is $189.

BHF61XZ Front sway bar to suit is $259.

Also my cars lowered on SL's in front and SSl's in there rear, stock shocks.(may return to FE2)

What sort of budget were you working to? The best would be Bilstein, but they're $350 each for the front, and $309 each for the rear. The ultimate in shocks, but with the price tag to match. At the other end of the scale KYB's shortened shocks to suit are $145 each for the front, and $69 each for the rear.

So I'm after a price on rear Koni yellows for a VZ
    $209 each.
Also are these height adjustable along with damper adjustable?
Nup, just damper adjustable. The Bilstein as above had the height adjustability through the use of various lower spring seat heights.

Any other questions just let me know!

    Doing the rear first.

Also do tein make shocks for the VZ?

I being told and recommended to grab the Bilsteins from a couple of mates, they've had them and said theirs no turning back.

    there rebuild able correct?

With the bilsteins how do they adjust does the whole shock need to taken be out?

I'll PM you tommorow night and give you my order

    sorry for the questions.

In that case definitely go Bilstein and Kings. Also a bonus, I quoted you on VE prices, VZ prices are actually $355 each for the front, and $219 each for the rear, so miles cheaper overall. So with springs to match, $1428, which leaves plenty of change left over for installation.

Also do tein make shocks for the VZ?
I'd assume so, but they'd be a step down from the Bilstien in terms of performance and quality.

Yep, and revalvable depending on your application.

They don't adjust, they don't need to as being a high end monotube they work better at both ends of the scale than a cheaper twin tube. Cheaper shocks need to be adjustable as they have very poor separation of high and low speed shaft bump, whereas the Bilstein will both handle better, and ride better, under all circumstances than equivalent adjustable shocks. To go up from Bilstein you'd have to spend $3.5k on something like DMS coilovers. Anything less than that are you're far better off with Bilstein.

No dramas at all, speak to you then!

Thanks for answer all my questions!

Sorry for the late reply, being having car troubles, just being trying to get my priorities straight.

Got springs and front shocks so I'm all set in that department, so just chasing rear Bilsteins and BHR50X Whiteline sway bar.

Just one more question, I promise

I'll let you know this Wednesday whats the go!

Are you saying the self adjust themselves for damper? or is it done manually?

The Bilstein are a non-adjustable shock, so there's no manual adjustment at all.
