    Default VE Brakes

Hey bloke, I figured you would be the best one to give me a proper answer. Do you know if I can just change the caliper mounting brackets on V6 Stato to V8 ones and be able to fit the slightly larger V8 discs on with no issues?

Also, what would I be looking at for a set of (at least) slotted discs and pads to suit?

    Cheers!

    Hi mate,

In all honestly, I don't know the answer! We get asked this all the time, and never actually had a chance to compare V6/8, but I'd imagine it would be straight forward, probably just the caliper carrier, and not the cover (bit with the pistons), same as we do with Astra's going to the turbo size rotor.

Front DBA 4000 Series Slotted Rotors $198 each (or $225 for a pair of RDA Slotted)
Pads - What sort of pads were you after, or what are you using the car for? Just Remsa would be $89 for the set, or HPX for $79.

    Cheers.

I'm not after race car like performance, just something that pulls up better than stock without costing me my left nut.

If dust is a major concern then go the HPX, if not, the Remsa are a better pad at the sacrifice of a little dust. Either would be great for street use.

Correct, the calipers themselves are exactly the same, its just the caliper carrier or mount or whatever holds it in place thats slightly different
Not sure where you would get one though,
On another note Ive actually got the front calipers with mounts, pads, and rotors, from my SS that were pulled off a few months back, driven for only 5000kms, up for an easy $100 if you or anyone is interested!

Is the extra price of the slotted 4000s over the regular Street Series slotted worth it? Or would the Street Series Golds be the way to go?

    Hi mate,

They're definitely a better rotor, but it's up to you whether you can justify it or not.

4000 Series are Australian made, Street Series are made overseas.
4000 Series are a higher carbon content rotor, so tend to last a bit longer than the street series.
4000 Series have thermal marking paint and Kangaroo paw ventilation.

Out of the slotted 4000s and the Street Series Gold which would you recommend? Obviously the golds look better but I'm after performance rather than looks. What's the price difference between the two?
