Hi mate. As stated in the title, i've got a series II ve SSv Redline ute. I need a suspension upgrade stat. The budget is 2k. If i can come in under that then sweet, if it's a little over, no biggie, i'll save more penny's lol. What do you recommend? I want a bit more stiffness through the twisties. It just seems to jump around and feel unbalanced.
Why not fit FE3 Performance Suspension?
It is a Ute remember, light as shit in the rear end and will always handle like a wet sponge through the "twisties".
It's a Redline, it should have fe3 already...
Cheap, fast, reliable.....you only get to choose two.
NO 2011 and 2011 redline utes do not have FE3 Suspension
onlythe latest redline utes come with it.
Hi mate,
Far and away the best option for $2k would be Bilstein and Kings, and a front sway bar, and have a few pennies left over (which you might like to do some bushes etc.).
Prices as follows:
- Bilstein and Kings Combo $1588
- Front Adjustable Sway bar $295
To get better than that you'd need to spend $3.5k< on something like DMS, Ohlins etc.
Any other questions just let me know!

Greg

Sick of paying too much for high performance brake pads? Want high performance and cold bite with low rotor wear?

^^ I can vouch for that
bilsteins, kings & swaybars are miles ahead of fe3 and all the common coilovers & shock setups (monroes, etc)
Light as shit? Used to be. Now there's only a ~40kg difference between the sedan and the utes. Most reports actually say the utes perform better than the sedans (series 1 for series 1) through corners thanks to revised spring rates and thicker rear sway bars.
FE3 is a bit of a wank too - it's barely better than FE2. Can do MUCH better aftermarket.
Yep that cracks me up to... Utes are barely lighter than their sedan equivalents, but they get that stigma from being easier to do sick skids in... Which in the real world is a combination of springs which are too stiff for both the unladen (below the GVM average) rear axle weight and shock that's trying to control it, and as you say, typically stiffer sway bars.
