    Hi mate,

Thanks for the feedback! Yep, we've got HPX on the shelf to suit Magna. $158 delivered for front and rear.

Need to find out though if the Magna has the single piston front pads:
    http://www.bendix.com.au/user_upload...ges/DB1203.gif
or the twin piston front pads:
    http://www.bendix.com.au/user_upload...nner_Outer.gif

And then the rears get even more complicated. Can be DB1204:
    http://www.bendix.com.au/user_upload...ges/DB1204.gif
    or DB1238:
    http://www.bendix.com.au/user_upload...nner_Outer.gif
    or DB1239:
    http://www.bendix.com.au/user_upload...nner_Outer.gif

    Any dramas let me know!

    Regards,
    Greg

    Hi Walt,

HPX to suit std VZ brakes are $79 per axle set, and shipping is free when you order front and rear together, so all up would be $158 delivered.

Easiest way to order is credit card over the phone, 1300 884 836, or else PM me your details, full name, delivery address (preferably a work or business address!!), contact number and email and I can fire you through an invoice with direct deposit details.

    Regards,

Feedback from a 300ZX at Winton on A1RM Street/Track Pads!

I hit the A1RM pads HARD at Winton. ( i also replaced the fluid with Penrite SIN synthetic)

These pads are really good. I had zero brake fade on the stock calipers. I actually wasnt expecting much.

They remained tight and still usable even after the hardest laps.

    Cant recommend them enough.

I need a set of stock A1RM rears for the race car now.

    Hi mate,

Yep, got both front and rear on the shelf in HPX to suit VR. Just fronts would be $79 plus $8 delivery, or else front and rear would be $158 and free delivery.

    G'day Greg,
I am having a bit of a drama with my QFM pads in the rear of my VT wagon. I got my discs machined and new QFM pads put in by my mechanic about 3 months ago. After a few days the rear brakes started squealing loudly under moderate braking at any speed over about 50kph. I notified him of this straight away. He notified his rep and was recommended I drive with them for a few weeks.

A month passed and this horrible squealing/howling noise was still apparent. So my mechanic replaced the pads with another new set of QFM pads. Again, after a few days the squealing came back. I again notified him of this and he said the rep reccomended I now do 3000kms with the new pads and the noise should dissappear. It has now been 3000kms (2 months) and it is still bugging the shit out of me.

My mechanic did bed in the pads properly each time. The machining of the discs was done on a new accuturn machine and was done beautifully. I have had QFM pads in the front of the VT for almost 2 years now (20 000kms) and only 1 problem. They starting squealing incredibly loud when braking after about 1.5 years . The disc machining fixed this though. I watched my mechanic install the rear pads both times, so they aren't installed backwards or anything like that.

I would really like to continue using your product, but at this stage I am pulling my hair out!!

Your help would be greatly apprecated.
    Cheers, Deano.

    Hi Deano,

Firstly what compound was installed, and where were they purchased?

Have the caliper slides been re greased? As above, checkout the RDA link and see if that helps. (Took the link right out of my mouth! )

    Greg,
They are just the standard replacement compound (I am unsure of the name). They were purchased through 'On-Car Disc Brake Machining' in Brisbane. Yes the caliper slides have definately been re greased and move freely.

I had a read through the above link. Am I correct in saying that if the pads have a chamfer put on the leading and trailing edge and disc brake quiet compund put on the back of the pads this will cure my problems?

    Cheers, Deano

That will be hard for us to comment on because we don't have much to do with the Super X (std replacement) compound. Aso your pads will be the non-police spec variety, meaning that you've only got about 2/3 of the backing plate covered, which will totally change how the pads interact with the rotor. All the VT-VZ fronts we sell come as a full face police spec DB1344 pad.

Am I correct in saying that if the pads have a chamfer put on the leading and trailing edge and disc brake quiet compund put on the back of the pads this will cure my problems?
It will certainly help, but there's really not one thing alone that will stop the pad vibrating (making noise). Worth a go, but I wouldn't say for sure if that will fix the problem.

Yes that is correct, they are the Super X compound. I didn't know you could get police-spec pads for the rear but I know with the Super X ones I have the full backing plate is covered.

What is "the one thing alone that will stop the pad vibrating"?

Oh, my bad, I missed the bit about the rear...

Sorry, should've been "It will certainly help, but there's really not one thing alone that will stop the pad vibrating (making noise)"... this is what happens when I take work home with me!

If you'd bought the pad through us we may look at exchanging them, but given we have little to do with Super X, I can't really offer you too many answer. The one thing I could suggest is EBC make a stick on shim kit, similar to what TRW and EBC pads have standard. You cut them to shape and stick them to the back of the pads, and stops then vibrating against the caliper. It's probably your best bet, but they're about $17 an axle set.

    Hey there.

Brake squeal is exactly why I'm buying a set of QFM HPX pads for the rear!

I've just recently replaced my rear rotor (RDA standard rotor) and am now running the standard RDA brake pads. I changed the pads and rotors because the OEM pads where squealing!

When the pads are cold, there is no brake squeal. After applying the brake a few times, squealing occurs. Gets so bad that evan the slightest touch of the brake pedal (at any speed above 30km/h) causes brake squeal.

I've tried the spray on adhevice, the CRC disc brake quiet, even wedged a piece of thin cardboard betweent the caliper and pads, and the brake squeal still remains!!!

I'm hoping the the new pads will eliminate the squeal. If it doesn't, the only thing left to replace will be the rear caliper, which has already been removed, drained of all fluid, seals checked and caliper slides re-greased.

Also in regards to the article, can brake squeal be caused by the coming together of the pad to the rotor??? I had some success in getting rid of the squeal when using the OEM parts by roughing up the friction material surface of the pads using 40 grit sandpaper. I then got my hacksaw and cut some grooves into the pads.

The squeal was gone for roughly 800km. The thing is, you don't want to be removing the pads every 800k to stop the squeal!!!

QFM A1RM Fitted to Nissan 300ZX!
Put A1RM's in last week, and after a suitable wearing in process...I am really impressed with them, both cold and warm...haven't got them hot hot yet...but so farm very impressed with how they pull up and peddle feel. To be honest they feel better than many higher priced pads I've used in the past. And definite improvement on the Ultimates I was using.

Highly recommend them to any zedder out there in the market for a new set of pads for the stocko calipers.

    Hi Greg,

I am after some new front pads to suit a VN Group A setup with the C4 style calliper. Do QFM make these in both compounds? If you could give me a price with postage costs to 5067 that would be great

    Hi mate,

Sorry about the late reply, I completely missed this the other day! Yep, we've got both compounds on the shelf to suit C4. HPX are $119 and A1RM are $179. Shipping to 5067 would be $8, or free if you ordered rear pads at the same time. (Rears would be $79 and $119 in the two compounds respectively).

QFM HPX Fitted to 03 WRX!
    Parts arrived and all installed.

Used the A1RM's on my car (TT Supra) and HPX on my mate's WRX. The ones on the WRX stop SOOOOOOO much better even for the lower grade pads!

Awesome pads and service all round.
