    Default QFM Brake Pads

GSL RallySport stocks the complete range of QFM High Performance Brake Pads

Queensland Friction Materials is a QLD based disc brake pads manufacturing business which was established in 1989.

The emphasis at QFM as been to develop high quality disc brake pads at highly competitive prices.

A wide range of friction material formulations are available to suit general motor vehicle, industrial and racing applications.

The ongoing research and development of existing and new friction material is performed at the QFM Nerang facilities. New friction materials are being continually developed and tested as part of the QFM commitment to quality and performance.

    Key Features

    - Long life with virtually no rotor wear
    - Low susceptibility to noise
    - No heavy black dusting of wheels
    - Excellent pedal feel and cold stopping

    SPECIFICATIONS
Formulation - Cold Friction - High Friction - Temperature (C)
    Super X - 0.43 - 0.41 - 0-450
    HP-X - 0.41 - 0.42 - 0-550

I spoke to you about the Lucas Pads you have on special. Are they the D-TEcs ?

I currently have QFM, absolutely love em, easily best pad i have used, such a fien light dust, cleans of so easily, not like that tar that Ferodo Excel used to make....only problem is i need to change all my rotors, but my pads still have heaps of meat left on them. I believe i should not use old pads on new rotors. The price you had for the other pads is very attractive if i need to change em all over again. What are you charging for front and rear rotors sent to Melbourne ???

I would replace the rotors and just scuff up the current pads. Rubbing the pad surface in a circular motion on concrete removes all of the glazing and any high spots created by grooves in the old rotor. This will help to take the pad back to a similar surface to what they had out of the box and will allow you to bed them in with the new rotors.

Yep, as Sammy said, using used QFM's on new rotors won't be a dramas, just scuff them up, and give them a good bed in time without flogging them to avoid any hot spots. The Lucas were just the normal high performance ones, not the low dust D-Tecs.

    Cheers,
    Greg

Another QFM A1RM fanatic on cruisingbrisbane.com:
I have these on my evo.
    F*cking great.

Had EBC green stuff pads on at first.. could not brake very well when they were cold.
Put on the QFM Race Pads; f*ck yes.

I am still waiting for some last brake components for my car to test the A1rm's, but i put a set of HPX front and SUPER X on the rear of my GF's twin turbo soarer and **** ME! The car stops so well! this was installed with RDA slotted rotors purchased from GSL.

Great service, great products, recommend to anyone, and will be buying anything else i need from here.

    Thanks again Greg!

I've thrown a stack of feedback all in the one place on a new forum we've come on board with:
[Edit] Ok, links don't work cause its another commodore site... i'll post them all up here later...

I'll keep them updated, and when I get time I'll start a similar thing over here. Or even on my website so there' one page to update, not 20...

We've got just over $20k worth of QFM performance stuff on the shelf now, everything from the Commodores, to 323 Astina's to Skylines, to Valiants!

How about bikes? Are the QFM's still better than the average bike pad, and still $75 odd (from memory) to get the compound thrown on a set of backing plates???Or am I better off looking for sintered pads.....

You know I've never been asked that, and now that's twice in 2 days! The short answer is QFM doesn't do bike stuff, and although they could re-line old pads, it would be a wild stab in the dark as to what compound would work. Bike pads seem to have a really high friction co-ef (like in the 0.60 range), so one would guess the A1RM, but then how it'd go cold would be a guess etc...

Feedback from a 300ZX at Winton on A1RM Street/Track Pads!

I hit the A1RM pads HARD at Winton. ( i also replaced the fluid with Penrite SIN synthetic)

These pads are really good. I had zero brake fade on the stock calipers. I actually wasnt expecting much.

They remained tight and still usable even after the hardest laps.

    Cant recommend them enough.

I need a set of stock A1RM rears for the race car now.

Do you do these pads for the HSV AP Racing 4 piston brake calipers? I upgraded to the AP Racing brake kit a few weeks ago and am using the stock pads (Ferodo or something)... could you recommend a better pad?

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately QFM doesn't do those pads. If you can source backing plates from old or unwanted pads then we can definitely get them made. Was it just the front AP's you've got?
