no worries! Will let you know how the Acclaim goes on the weekend after the interstate and back trip, Ive only driven it once since install, which was peak hour this morning, once they warmed up they were quite impressive. Its copped a fair bit of black brake dust too despite not braking heavy, coz the rims were spotless before installation on the weekend, but I'll put that down to the new pad just making itself at home!
Still as Ive made mention elsewhere in the forum the brake dust is no where near as bad as Greenstuff or the popular Bendix Ultimates.

hey mate ...
first photo is the Acclaims rim after travelling down to Canberra, then back via bathurst.
Overall by that stage we had rarely braked as most was highway kays, so brake dust was a minimum.
However I then had the car in Sydney peak hour for 4 days and thats when the rims became really dusty. You can see at the top left of the rim where I ran my finger down it after getting back from the Canberra to Bathurst trip, so everything thats ontop of that mark has happened in 4 days of peak hour, low speed start/stop traffic
The second photo was taken shortly after washing the Adventra. The rim where tyre meets rim is dirty and crappy and I'll admit I didnt clean that too well because I was in a bit of a rush. But the face of the rim was spotless. I drove it down the block to refuel, was only light on the brakes, get back and, well, you can see the results.
I'm not going to lie to you, with the number of people who tell me these pads are virtually dustless I have to wonder where have I gone wrong on both these cars, or is my idea of dustless (or near dustless) different to everyone elses?

Hi mate,
Sorry about the late reply. Unusual that's for sure. Whether others have had the same thing and not said anything, but I can honestly say no one else has every complained about the dust. I guess alot of people who have purchased these have come from dusty performance pads such as Lucas or Bendix, both of which are definately up on the QFM for dust. Coming straight from normal spec genuine pads, then any performance pad will exhibit some level of dust, be it pad or rotor dust. That's just a consequence of the banning of asbestos in friction materials.
Apologies if you're not happy with them. I've certainly found them to be an excellent all round street pad coming from Lucas, but I appreciate not everyone's requirements are the same. If there's anything I can do let me know.
Regards,
Greg

A shaking steering wheel whilst braking would most likely be the result of warped rotors or in some cases, stuffed radius rod bushes.. I had both..

Hi mate,
Yep, got HPX for the VS in stock, $79 for the front. Haven't got the rears in stock but if you need rears then just standard qfm are $40.

Greg

Hi mate,
The HPX pads for the VT are $79, and a pair of slotted rotors if you need them is $175 for the pair.

Greg

How expensive are rod bush's? And are they easily changed in your home garage?
Because i might as well do the whole lot, they have never been changed since i got the car.

Front radius rod bushes are easy to change- a little 'prying and cutting' may be involved.
