    Hey mate,

I've been after some Koni shocks for a while now and just noticed a small leak in one of my rear shocks so it's time to upgrade.

My car is a VS V6 live rear axel

At the momement my suspension is completly stock. I'm locking to lower it a bit and was considering Lovels sports lows but mainly I want my car to handle better so I need some very stiff shocks (Not too stiff I still need to be able to drive it every day).

    Just a few questions:

    1) What Koni shocks would you recomend.
    2) Will the Konis work well with Lovels springs.
    3) Can I put Shocks in now and lower the car later?
    4) How much would Konis and Lovells cost all round?

    Cheers

Really depends on how much you want to spend. The Koni Special (Red) are a good quality shock and will probably do. They are internally adjustable (off the car). The Red's are $212 each for the fronts, and $138 each for the rears.

The Yellows are the next step up in performance dampening, and are externally adjustable (on the car). These are $283 each for the fronts and $188 each for the rears.

    2) Will the Konis work well with Lovels springs.
Yep absolutely, either Lovels or Kings will work fine. Especially with the luxury of adjustable shocks, you just match the shock to the springs.

    3) Can I put Shocks in now and lower the car later?
    Definitely!
    4) How much would Konis and Lovells cost all round?
Koni prices as above, depending on what which way you go, and Lovells are $130 per pair front or rear.

Unfortunately not here now, even the Koni catalouge doesn't give dimensions... even the Gabriel one does!!!

Not very, even inserts are easy enough. Either way you'll need to pull the front struts out to do it...

how much for adjustable yellow's for front + rear to suit VN?

how 'adjustable' are they? does the adjustment control the damp/rebound at once? are shocks available with individual controls for each? what is the range of adjustment?

    Cheers,
    Luke

    Hi mate,

Sorry about the late reply. Front Koni Yellows to suit are $295 each, and the rears $202 each.

The adjustment is a single combined bump/rebound, and it's sort of hard to say how 'adjustable' they are, suffice to say they're designed to be both a street tourer and track shock, so there should be a fair bit.

    Greg

    Hi mate,

Koni doesn't do any in-car adjustment systems (like Tein), but they do have Koni Yellow Sports, which are on-car adjustable. Koni Yellows are $355 each for the front, and $275 each for the rear.

Not out of Koni, but we can do a 40mm Drummond Motor Sport (DMS) full coilover kit, including springs, freight and GST for $3508. Bump/rebound/height adjustable.
