Default equivalent low struts VS V6 sedan

    hey mate

just chasing a set of front struts for a V6 VS sedan. running kings superlows upfront.

what im after is shock, which is physically shorter say an inch, inch & a half, so the shalf has more travel. instead of the very minimal travel a shock has once a car is lowered. is there one out there?

when i have some time off work, im aiming to get some FE2 IRS wagon shocks for the rear so i have more travel and the shock should operate in the optimum range, this is what im after also for the fronts.

coilovers are prolly the best option (changeable inserts) but the price is just rediculous.

    hope you can help

    Cheers
    John.

Certainly is, KYB do a shortened front shock for VS-VZ. Looking at $138 per strut.

KYB also do shortened shocks for the rear, is your VS live axle or IRS?

    Thanks for the reply Greg

so the KYB shocks are shortened sweet, but how much shorter compared to a standard shock? what operating lowered range is the height from standard - 2-3inchs?

rear end is IRS which im not too concerned about at this stage, just mainly the fronts im chasing as they a nackered

what would be postage on a pair of the KYB fronts to 3121?

    Cheers

Standard KYB ones aren't but they have an 8 series range which are shortened for lowered use.

but how much shorter compared to a standard shock? what operating lowered range is the height from standard - 2-3inchs?
The front shocks are 25mm shorter, and the rears are 60mm shorter. Designed to work from FE2 (25mm) right down to Ultra Lows (60mm). The fronts don't need to be any more than 25mm shorter, even for ultra low applications as the front springs are quite captive from factory. Vice versa for the rears shocks, even though they're 60mm shorter are fine for use with only FE2 height springs.

what would be postage on a pair of the KYB fronts to 3121?
Total shipped to you on just the front shortened would be $291. If you wanted the IRS rears as well the total would be $439 delivered.

Any other questions just let me know.

    Greg

i'll be checking the bank account after this weekend, and i should be placing an order with you for the fronts next week.

do you have a part number i can look up? or the full name off this shock, cant find it on the website. do these have adjustable stiffness or is it a normal set strut?

    Cheers

It's a standard Excel G 834 Series Shock. If you want adjustable step up to Koni or DMS, but you're looking at 3-5 times the price.

    Hi mate,

Total shipped to you on a pair of front shortened would be $291. That's KYB, not that Tenecco (Monroe) rubbish.
