Default how to remove rear fascia from center console

Hey guys, recently took off my rear fascia of the center console to paint (just matching the dash fascia) so i thought, in case anyone was looking for information on how to take this apart, i'd post it up.

Now for taking off the actual console i didn't take photos, but julie has a thread where she explained how to take it off so she could put a chrome shifter button in, so i'll just put a link to that.

    Step 1. Remove the console.

How to install a chrome shifter button in your VT/VX

please read through that, you will only need to do steps 1 and 2.

now you will have this off.

    Step 2.

    Remove these screws.

    Step 3.
    Remove these screws.

(the photo only shows one, you will see one on the left side as well)

    Step 4.
    Remove this last screw.

    Step 5.
You now need to pull the fascia off the console, the bottom of the fascia might hold a bit, and around the vents may also hold a bit, pull the fascia off. If you are pulling hard and it is not budging double check that you have removed all the screws.

    before and after photos.

If you need to remove the air vents, from memory you just need to push the arm that joins thing that closes the vent to the fascia vent control thing (couldn't think of the names sorry lol). you need to just move it to the side it will come off, then the vents will just come apart. Make sure to memorize how it goes back together, and make sure you don't loose those little black things that sit on top and the bottom of the vent, as you will need them for a perfect fit later on.

If you need photos of the process for the vents, i need to re-paint the fascia because for some stupid reason i thought it was dry (it felt dry) but as you can see in the last picture, there's thumb marks on it from when i was holding the fascia whilst putting back in the vents.

I hope this helps with any projects you may be doing, or if you just needed to fix a vent (which was the original test on my mums vt).

Feel free to correct or add any information i may have missed.

Actually i just took the door from the dash fascia and put it on there, still looking for another one Been looking on ebay and asking wreckers, but not too worried at the moment i took the little rubber thing from the rear and put it in the front so that will do for now until i get another door.

Yeah they are both exactly the same, instead of being able to take off the whole compartment though the rear one is moulded in, but the door is easy enough to put in, you just slide it in and put the pins from the door into the compartment and all done

Cool, I didn't see a spot for the clip when I pulled it apart the other day but it must be there somewhere. Thanks.
