Was looking through the forum and saw that there was no write up for removing your rear spoiler/wing
Still had mine on and decided it was time to take it off
Tools:
Spanner that will fit the bolts (cant remember what size, sorry)
Car polish
Wet rag
Ducket tape
bit of elbow grease
HERE WE GO>>>
Step 1:
Open the boot and remove the bolts with the spanner
Step 2:
Leave the top nuts on incase the spoiler comes free so it wont fall and hit your car
Step 3:
under the boot lid is the wiring for the LED break lights in the wing...locate this wire which has a clip (DO NOT CUT)
Step 4:
Un-clip this clip
Step 5:
Take the nuts off that you left on to hold the spoiler while you unclipped the plug and slowly pull each side up evenly, pull the clip through the whole
Step 6:
Now your wing is off there may be some dirty marks on the boot where the wing was fixed. i wiped away most of the dirt with a wet rag and then used some car polish to get it nice and shiny...repeat this step until no dirt is around
Step 7:
Your probably wondering what to do with the holes in your boot, i cut pieces of duck tape and stuck them over the holes which looks un-tidy but unless you have the money to get them filled and sprayed (i dont atm) then the tape is the way to go.
then step back and admire your ride
hope this helps![]()
nice i am going to remove my vz's wing
Or use blanking Grommets for the holes from memory the small are 3/8" and the big one 3/4"
i think it looks better with the spoiler mate

Hey Mate,
Awesome post! Just took my spoiler off my S Pac, looks so much better!
One question, have you been pulled up by the cops for only 2 brake lights?
Chris.
hey
sorry for late post
havemt been on in a while
nah, had cops pull me over for other things but never to say i have 2 brake lights, i worried about the same thing when i did it
just so you know if someone runs into the back of your car your insurance could be void if you dont have the 3rd brake light
Having no 3rd or eyelevel brakelight makes your car unroadworthy. Problem is, the area for the factory brakelight on the parcel shelf is blacked out on the glass. No worries...
1. Go and buy an LED aftermarket light such as this Narva one:
2. Remove rear seat.
Feel under the front of the seat base and on each side theres a handle you pull forward then lift the front of the seat upwards and out. Now youve exposed the two bolts at the base of the seat back, undo and pull the seats upwards to release. Fold down the middle section.
3. Remove parcel shelf.
Remove the plastic trim above the tunnel to the boot by pulling the two clips out. Remove all the clips along the front, the two large ones on top (unscrew them) and unbolt the baby seat anchor. Pull the shelf cover towards you to expose the hole in the centre where you feed the brakelight wire into the boot.
4. Feed the wire through then reinstall everyhting you removed.
5. Mount the brakelight as low as possible as the higher you go, the more the light is angled upwards and reduces visibility.
6. Now pull the wire through from the boot till theres no slack on the shelf.
7. In the boot look under where the factory brakelight sits on the parcel shelf and you will see the plug for the globe. Cut the plug off and crimp some connectors on there. Cut the excess wire off the brakelight wire and crimp some opposite connectors on it.
8. Plug her in !
Wing of gayness together with new light
Wing gone, but all legal now

lol yea i know but i just put it there untill the one i bought of ebay comes![]()
Did you manage to get the back seat out?
Silver Certified.
okay, i managed to get up to step 7 after reading it agin. i have no idea what "Cut the plug off and crimp some connectors on there. Cut the excess wire off the brakelight wire and crimp some opposite connectors on it." means though. crimp?
Put the wire into the small end of the connector and basically squash the end with the wire in it onto the wire so it can't come out. I use pliers cause I'm cheap, but there are crimping tools available.
Hope that helps.
Or instead of using connectors you can just solder the wires together, or be really dodgy and twist them together haha.

Can you use the led out of the spoiler? Iv'e seen it done before and it gets mounted where the number plate lights are, I'm not sure if it's legal or not but would probably be better then just having the two side ones
