Default Front Air vents Paint How to detailed

Hi Guys. Tinkering again and made another how to on how to paint the outer part of the front door air vents. Like on the upper market commies. I take no responsibility for anything you perform your self. I am not a mechanic.

Ok, Start by removing the Air vent, Be careful not to damage the trim while removing it.

Then pull it completely out after unclipping it.

Now unclip the front part from the back. Note there is the slider you have to unhook first.

Now remove the Movable vent, Simply pull from the top first, then pull up as it a pin slides into the outer part.

    IMAGE MISSING

Now remove the Open/close slide. Push the outer part out a bit to remove it from its position. You will understand when you see it.

Now you just have the outer surround. Now simply paint. if you really want try to keep the open close dots hehe. Really if you cant figure out if its open or closed, Oh dear is all i can say lol.

Reassemble, Should look a bit like this. Note it is silver, seems to reflect as white with the camera.

While ya at it clean the vent to :-) The Things i do when im board lol

Hope You Like :-) Let me know how ya go :-)

Well I'm in the middle of the clear coats now, and they're coming up great. Slight difference with the VY ones, but nearly same as VT/VX. I won't lose the on/off arrows as they are on the little round selector. What's next, Edals? LOL!

I'd love to do my steering wheel spokes, but it's a pain in the ass to remove the steering wheel just to do that.

I think it would also wear off also, since your hands are constantly on the steering wheel.

Well mine have lasted well, I also did my door handles as per the other How-to. I went for several light coats, then several light coats of clear gloss on top. The handles would be the first to wear, but no wear as yet. That's since about January this year. Cheers.

Worked Perfectly, take note to make sure you separate the thing you spin, left and right makes a difference.
I spent like an hour trying to get the hook on before i realised that the left was on the right etc.

After doing this thursday last week i gave it another go on some bigger area's.
Turned out really well i think; not entirely related to this thread but might give someone an idea for themselves while they're doing the vents.
