STEP 4: install wiring loom and replace bumper bar

wiring loom plugs in on driver side under tail light, then you can put the rear bumper bar on and put the carpet back in the boot. hope this is a help to someone.

Does this apply to removing a towbar as well?
I have the actual bit(with the round chrome ball on top) which connects to the trailer off, however I still have this bit that seems to be bolted in just under the spare and covered in some yellowy glue or something.
I have the plastic cover for the exterior to cover the gap where this bit sticks out of, where the black plastic bit is..I'm sure you get the idea.

Hey Guys, you can fit a tow bar without taking the rear bumper off, just put one on my vx calais. its not easy but still better than removing the rear bumper.

Any idea how to take the towbar off completely? My previous post may not have been that clear and to the point..

This i would like to see this done. WOULD be very painful without removing the bumper bar. Almost near impossible. Plus the amount of work to remove the bumper is not much and makes the job heaps easier..

Yeah, considering the bars virtually fall off just by yelling at them, i'd just take it off..

VYExecutive S2 Wagon
Hi, long time reader, first time poster...

aza03, thanks for the thread as I was thinking of DIY installing a towbar myself... In terms of the wiring loom, how do you run the wires from the rear of the vehicle to the bonnet? Is there a plug pre- mounted by Holden that you plug into or is it a complicated auto- electrical task? I have a S2 VY wagon.

Apologies for the stupid question...

Wiring easy

Gi'day mate this is my first post reply so excuse me if its shabby...
the wiring for the trailer plug i dont know why you want to get the feeds from the bonnet?..
you can use one of the rear light clusters, you can get your earth, indicator, stop, tail and reverse lights. Its easy to do yourself, the pin number and wire colour is;
1. yellow - left indicator
2. black - aux
3. white - earth
4. green - right indicator
5. blue - aux
6. red - stop
7. brown - tail
That is guessing your going to get 7 seven pin plug, and no holden don't leave a plug there for you.

hope that helps
