    Default 4L60E Simple in Pan Maintenance Tutorial

    Had these photos and thought id do a little writeup to share, might help some of your out there thinking a trans is something you would never want to touch, there is simple in pan things you can check and replace which can give extra life to your tranny and only cost another $30 odd extra ontop of an oil change.

    Awesome man! Excellent material there.

    FYI - removing the springs out of the 1-2 accumulator will give a nice, firm but not too hard 1-2 shift.

    dunno if id run it without a spring especially if it's not pinless double seal, but you can buy shorter springs if you want to firm the shifts up.

    yeh the pistons job is the cushion the shock when shifting, i guess it's one way of letting more pressure though, shift kit or more force motor pressure in the memcal tune would be the other ways, im just not sure how it would affect valve wear by not cushioning the sudden pressure.

    yeah i'd never heard of it before either but I trust his judgement, he's been doing it his whole life.
