Default How to roll guards with the ebay tool.

aight rolled my guards for when i drop the vt a bit so the 20s wont rub
thought id chuck up a thread, might be helpful to some one.
we done this on my vt and mates vx this arvo and came up well.
tool cost 155 off ebay including postage so quite cheap if your going to do a couple of cars.
heres a pic of the tool

and i would replace these bolts straight away, or theyl snap lol.

    and to start,
chock your front wheels the jack up the rear and get it sitting off the ground (stably!) then remove the wheels

put it in neutral and release the hand brake, the bolt on the tool

adjust the pivot and extender to meet the guard the adjust the roller (adjust the roller little bits at a time, not in one go)

start turning the lever pushing the roller againt the guard

grab the tool and start spinning it left to right ( i would recomend heating it with a heatgun / hair dryer. i diddnt and got a couple hairline cracks!)

hears a before and after pic, gives it a bit more room. you could go further but i dont see the need. these fit my 20's under it and no where near rubbing now.

overall pretty happy with it, for the price its already made its money back on 2 cars

    these ones here mate,
they hold the adjuster in place. one snapped and the other bent on the first guard, the only fault so far with the roller.

That seems to be the funny thing about cheaper tools made in China or other Asian factories. The basic design is sound and the manufacture is good, but they use bolts made of cheese. That roller looks pretty robust, but the bolts are rubbish.
