Hey guys i did this install on my VT Exec S1 Sedan this week and i had to work out most of the stuff myself except for the brake switch and i thought there would have been a how to on it already but i cant find one so ill make one now.

1. source the following parts at you local wreckers/Auto shop/Holden Spare Parts

- Cruise Control Module (Make sure to get the 3 M10 bolts for fastening it to the bay)
- Cruise Control Accelerator cable
- Cruise Control Indicator Stalk
- Cruise Control Brake Switch
- Metal Retaining Clip for CC Brake Switch
- Dash Lights for 'CRUISE' & 'ACTIVE'

2. Fasten the module to the engine bay and plug the loom into the back of the module (If you dont have the brown plug already in the engine bay loom i wouldnt recommend doing the install unless you know your way around splicing a loom)

3. Plug the Accel Cable into the back of the CC module and run the cable along the firewall to and loop it back to the Throttle body plate:

4. There will already be a cutout in the throttle body plate/Bracket for the CC Cable.. so clip it in and there will be a black clip on the end of the cable hook that onto the knob just above the normal cable:

5. Go into the cabin and lower the steering wheel (There will be a lever under the column) and take of the ignition shroud (Take the top part of then the bottom has one screw at the back and has to slide off 2 cast holders at the front. now that you have that off you can remove the old stalk by pulling it straight out sidewards (making sure that you hold the 2 sides that have the clips). Unplug the old stalk (2 big black plugs) and throw it away :p then get your new stalk and put the 2 black plugs back on and there will be an extra female plug with a longer wire. there should also be a male plug on the loom of the column so plug the female end into the male, then plug the stalk back into the column and put your shroud on in the reverse sequence to taking it off.

Now thats the easy bit done...

6. Next you will have to get under your dash (accessing upside down in the drivers side footwell) and you will see an extra hole on a braket at the top of the brake pedal. Get your metal retaining clip and stick it in the top hole then grab your White Cruise Control Switch and push/ twist it into the whole so that the brake switch and the CC switch are out the same length or else one will fail. then there is a grey female plug on the brake switch loom that will plug to the end of your CC switch.

So for me, I couldnt get a Metal Retaining Clip from anywhere except Holden, so i have ordered one but its going to be a week before i get it, so what i have done in the mean time is just made the CC switch be pushed in the whole time as it only needs to be pushed in to work, if taken it for a test drive and everything works fine... this is not the ideal way to go about it.. but i will change it as soon as i get the clip.

you probably wont have lights in the cluster for the CRUISE & ACTIVE. I just swapped some around, im going to be doing a dash light conversion soon but this is working in the mean time (Im sure there is a writeup of how to remove and replace dash lights)

I hope this will help people who are thinking about the conversion... if i did it again and had all the neccasary parts it would only take about 1-2 hours including swapping the dash cluster lights. If anyone has additions to this let me know and ill add it.

Thanks for looking
James

You don't 'have' too (I didn't when I fitted CC to my old manual VN), however the first time you push the clutch in with the CC engaged may have a tendency to give you a 'brown stain in your pants' moment, as the engine hits the rev limiter. LOL

Just don't ask me how I know this. LOL

My VT already has cruise control, but does not work, I've tested the sensor and the brake is ok, tested the switch turns off and is ok, now do not know what to test, can you help me?
