Cant be hard.... havnt done one on my 5 ltr but have done them on other motors before.

-Undo the hex head bolts holding the rocker covers on.
-Take rocker cover off
-Take out old gasket
-Clean it up a bit, get rid of any unwanted crap
-Insert new gasket
-Put covers back on
-Tighten hex head bolts again

Correct. On a Buick 6 it can be a little harder getting the drivers side rocker cover off because of all the hoses in the way, but it can be manouvered out. But what Geoff posted is correct. It's pretty easy.

Its harder then you think, i got rather annoyed doing this job. The original rubber gaskets are good because they had a little ridge so they stayed in position on the head, the new cork ones I got didnt stay there at all.

So what I did was got some special gasket glue and put some dabs on some edges and stuck it in place to the head, then with 2 people put the rocker cover back ontop, trying to align the 2 long bolts is the hardest aart with keeping it all aligned and not mving the bloody gasket!

My tip would be, stay calm, have a helper and buy the bloody rubber ones with the grooves so they stay in place! Cork ones are annoying!

ALSO, DONT OVERTIGHTEN THE BOLTS...

Cork ones?! I got thick rubber ones for my 6. Greased them up with some oil i had leftover from the service, they stayed in alright. But yeah, they can slide out sometimes when trying to put the rocker cover on.

they will still get nudged out of place best just to be patient.... the only tip i can privide is to only nip up the bolts, dont tighten them as you'll just cause more leaks.
