Arrow Replacing front wheel bearings- NON ABS

When your car starts to sound like an aeroplane when the front wheels are spinning, its time to do the bearings.

1.Jack up the front of the car and support with jack stands
    2.Remove front wheels
3.Remove brake calipers and bracket with a 15,16 and 19mm spanner
4.Remove bearing cover with a flat blade screwdriver
5.Remove the split pin with a set of pliers and undo the castle bolt
6.The disc will fall off with the front bearing assembly.
7.Replace the rubber boot on the strut and clean and grease the rest.
8.Carefully tap the old bearing case(s) out of the discs and tap the new ones in to original spec.
9.Grease up the new bearing with high temperature bearing grease by using the proper method or if your a noob use a machine boght from supercheap that will compress the grease through out the bearings.
10.Replace the bearing to which they came out keeping dust and grime away.
11.replacement is the same as removal, and is a good idea to bleed your brakes while your at it.

NOTE- sometimes the front wheel bearings get so hot they literally bond to the stub axle, a chisel may be required if it doesnt budge.

ABS OWNERS- replacing your wheel bearings is quite easy but alot more expensive as your abs sensors are built into the wheel bearing unit. changing them over is almost the same as mentioned above, except theres only 3 bolts behind the disc securing the unit. Also the grease is already packed into the bearing, its simply r&r.

I don't know if I'm being an idiot but I got as far as step 4 and couldn't manage to remove my bearing dust cover. I was attacking it with a flat head and pulling it with grips but it just wouldn't budge. Any easy way to do this?

Tap the side of it very gently with a hammer, it will pop off.
