Post How To: Remove Pedal Box VN-VR

Hey guys a mate and i are completing a manual conversion in the following weeks so here is a start to the guide on how to do it.

    1. In the engine bay undo the 2 nuts(13mm) and one bolt(13mm). Holding the brake reservoir on.

    2. Behind the brake booster (big black cylinder) you will have two nuts 2 (13mm) bolts to remove.they are holding the clutch cable in place. Note: picture only shows one. the other was removed.

3.Remove Fuse Cover, Steering Column Surround, Pedal cover. also Pull out the metal bar that has the fuses attached so you can see the two bolts up near the steering column behind the pedals. You want to remove both of them (13mm)

    4. the Pedal Box is attached to the underneath of the steering column. remove this nut (13mm)

    5. Un Plug The Clutch and Brake Cable/Line From the pedals. and you will be free to remove the pedal box. Note It may Take a bit of twisting Jiggling to Get it out.

    Hope this helps.

and a picture to show you what your aspiring too

It all looks pretty simple tell you get in there and do it and think 'was that picture of these bolts?' lol, oh and its not as much of a pain in the ass as everone makes it out to be. Also to take the pedal box out there is a little pin on the brake u need to remove.

    EDIT:
    Need to add,

These are the bolts and nuts in a nice picture to show the location of them on the pedal box. Bolts 1 and 2 are in step 2 above and are in the engine bay. Nuts 1 and 2 are the ones in step 3 above and are inside the car. Nut 3 is the one on the steering coulum.

Here they are from a differnt view and the location of the pin you need to take out.

    Close up.

Hey, I thought this would be the best place to ask.

Is there meant to be a nut here? I don't think the VN I got mine off had one.
I couldn't find a nut that will fit correctly. Is this meant to support it more?
    Would it be ok without?
Can somone confirm that a stock VN/VP/VR/VS has a nut here?

    Thanks

mine has cruise and no i didnt hook it up to the clutch because lets face it you can chirp gears with cruise control on :P

but yeah you probably should get a switch and put it on the clutch but it works fine without it

Good work mischa.......Now you and hayden can pull my pedal box out at camping and help me replace my spring on the clutch pedal so it stops flicking up and hitting me under the chin
