Jack car up at the front and rear so its level, jump in the interior pop out the shifter surounding plasic and boot, remove bolts (4), pop shift out, jump under and remove the Y section of the exhaust off at both manifolds and then at the cat, while you are there disconect the clutch cable at the bellhousing, and the bottom gearbox bolts, then take out the speedo drive and any other wires that run to the gearbox, Unbolt the tailshaft at the diff, Crossmember and unbolt the strap, take shaft out if you have a bucket handy to catch the oil otherwise drain the box or leave shaft in (i use a dummy shaft) unbolt the gearbox now at the top of the motor (remove intake piping for more room if needed) unbolt the g/b crossmember at the body, now i lay under box and wiggle it off and catch it but u can put a tyre under the box and tie a rope to the member or how ever floats your boat, when its out from underneath the car remove the centre shaft bearing (throwout race) and install new one, remove your old clutch off at the flywheel and install new one making sure you have lined the teeth in the centre of the clutch up with ones in the motor otherwise you will be there for hours, lay box underneath car and insert the tailshaft into the back of it lift the box up and slide the shaft into the motor while your mate wiggles the tailshaft from left to right and when it clicks once loudly or 2 small clicks when the box goes into the motor youve got it (never force it on by tighting up the bolts) and now all this in reverse and you got it, might have to back off the clutch cable a couple turns.![]()
Good little writeupHopefully this will help a few people! Rep left.
How hard did you find it the first time you ever did it? I struggled like a little crack whore on my first attempt![]()
