Default engine electrical details

These are for the VN, VP, VQ, VR, VS models only.

Ignition coil resistance between 20 and 30 degrees c
Primary
V6 models 0.3 to 1.5 ohms
V8 models
Vn, vp, vq 0.75 to 1.5 ohms
Vr .76 to .084 ohms
Vs .42 to .47 ohms

Secondary
V6 models
Vn 10k to 14kohms (k = 1000)
Vp, vq, vr, vs 5k to 7k ohms (k = 1000)
V8 models
Vn, vp, vq 5k to 7k ohms
Vr 4.8k to 5.9k ohms Vs 5.9k to 7.2k ohms


Spark plug wire resistance, (these are approximate)
V6 30kohms
V8 25kohms

Alternator
Brush min length 4mm
Rotor slip ring resistance aprox 2.47 to 2.73 ohms
Stator winding resistance aprox
Vr and vs with bosch kc-a alternator .058 to .063 ohms
All other models .070 to .077ohms
Rectifier diode forward current rating 35amps

Slip ring
Diameter (min) 26.7mm
Out of round (max) .06mm
Runout (max) .45mm
