seems like a good entry level job for system administration.
seems like whoever wrote the advert knows nothing about IT lol, basically they're saying "we have a small office, we don't know what our phones do or how to use them, we have a bunch of printers that need moving and re-configuring and you'll probably have to carry them (OH&S hazard), also fix everything that doesn't work on the computers lol, probably a good junior systems engineer position, but personally you'd want more technical information before committing to that :-P although they might have a good looking receptionist![]()

Maybe it not that the person who wrote the ad knows nothing about computers and stuff, maybe they just know the staff really well.

Well considering the Assistant CEO from what sounds like a small town out of Melbourne wrote the Ad...I'd say a) he (or whoever wrote the ad for him) is more of a people person than someone with technical understanding b) The lack of technical information means either he thinks the position is a joke and so he doesn't care who applies, or he truly doesn't know anything about computers and by that fact he will get a number of people with no idea about what is required to be a sys admin applying (e.g. students who want a big break who have only just left uni) he has said nothing about the infrastructure, he has said nothing about what is required of the position, and he's said nothing about how much needs to be managed. As an IT technician myself that looks dodgy and it will probably require a large budget to bring the site to standard depending on the amount of PC's and how many servers they are running and what their network infrastructure entails. I would say the current setup would be sketchy at best, so I look at that job advertisement and not only do I think it's a joke, but whoever gets it will be paid for a role their employer knows nothing about...but hey I guess as long as everything is managed properly it's all good right![]()
