So 3 guys walk into a bar all gettin a drink each their bill came to $15.
The waiter comes to get the money and takes it to the cash register where the manager sees whats happening and decideds to give to guys $5 off their bill
Walking back to the table with the $5 change the waiter see that $5 cant be divided by the 3 men equally so he takes $2 for himself and gives each of the men back $1
so now that the men have paid for their drinks they have ended up paying $4 ea.
3 men 3 drinks $4 ea = $12 plus the $2 that the waiter took = $14 so there is a missing doller where did it go guys
anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or addictive
its not $4 dollars each silly. its $13 divided by 3 people
their bill came to $10 the waiter took $2 for a tip and gave $3 back
that was quick guess i didnt explain it right

Wait, let me just scrape the last pieces of my brain off the walls after the explosion.
Thats not a riddle, thats you giving us an incorrect equation and asking why it doesnt work.
as said before its 13 (15 minus 2 the waiter took) divided by 3, not 3 times 4.
The waiter should have pocketed the entire $5 and that way wouldnt have been caught.
Assuming they gave the waiter $15....... Bar keeps $10, waiter keeps $2, each man gets $3 change? there is no missing dollar

"No, I'm not a pessimist. At some point the world shits on everybody. Pretending it ain't shit makes you an idiot, not an optimist."
If it cost $15 that equates to $5 per drink.
because the barman gives back $5 each man gets back $1 and the waiter keeps $2.
That means each drink cost $4 (5-1)
so for the three drinks it cost $4 x3 =$12 plus a $2 tip = $14
I think that is how the riddle is supposed to be viewed.
Matt's right about how it's supposed to be worded. The solution is subtract the $2 from the $12, then add the $5. I can explain that if need be...
haha that was good haha. good to put a smile on my dial after a shit day of work

It's easy, why would they be paying $12 all up when he took $5 off to make it $10. Nothing tricky about this one. Just the way it's worded.
Matt has the right idea, but it might not be enough for some people :P
