My Conundrum

A man lives on the highest floor of a tall building, when he goes to work he takes the elevator all the way down to go to work, but when he come home he can only go half way up with the elevator and then walks the rest of the way up to get home. BUT on a rainy day he can go all the way up and down. Explain

He is a midget and can't reach the button for the top floor in the lift. On rainy days he uses his umbrella to push the button
