    Default Aussie Tax Time Simplified

Sure is a simpler way of working it all out ....

The very existance of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to do it.

    Here's an idea:

Let's not pay taxes for a year.

Then we'll see the roads crumble
    The electricity disappear
    Drinking water goes bye bye
    Police quit their jobs
    Public hospitals close
    Firemen quit

Do you see where this is leading?

Australia is one of the highest taxed countries in the world, but we're all some home to some of the highest earners in relation to living costs.

And if you're going to whinge to me about rich people getting a bigger tax cut this financial year, don't forget that they earn more, they ALREADY pay a higher tax rate, so that $68 a week in comparison to $6 is proportional to the amount they earn and pay anyway.

Yeah I do realise that we pay a lot of tax, but like I said our low living costs outweigh the taxes we pay and in return we can at least hope that we have good government funded public services.

But yeah, apart from that the form is funny .

Dont hold your breath. The way John Howards going we'll be paying more tax and getting less services. Its turning into a miniture american "users pays" system.

i work four nights a week earning about $70 each night (bout 6 hours worth). i i work and extra night, even though i would recieve casual rate (bout an extra $3 per hour) i only earn and extra $20 for the week, the rest goes to tax... tell me that aint getting raped?

If i could see the tax money being used where i live itd be ok, but the nearest thing that ive seen done here is that highway to bendigo. how am i supposed to afford petrol so i can go on that highway?

As the cost of living rises, so does the taxes and all that crap. yet do our wages and pensions go up? no.

How about we see all the grocery boys go on strike and see the whole of australia go to chaos... cmon think about it... the supermarket here would die if grocery boys stopped stackin the shelves. then the customers couldnt get anything... utter chaos BWAHAHAHA *evil laugh *

petrol tax is nearing 25% now, i earn 310 a week before tax for standard 38 hours (first year apprentice). after tax i get around 270, thats with tax free threshhold and in the lowest bracket etc. my old man pays 48c to the dollar. hes walkin out after tax with half of what he has earned. he works his ass off and get half his money takin for sweet F all. our roads are shite, we pay for water, electricity all that jazz. i think its stupid, bloody rediculous, proposterous, outrages.

nah not really, i just think it should all be standardised, say 20 percent over the board or something like that. just needs a revamp.

The crappiest thing is that the highest earners in real terms pay stuff all tax cos they can afford all these tax dodge systems and though they earn upwards of 2-3 million a year their taxable income is ONLY about 100k though i wouldn't complain if i was earning only 100k but hey we are becoming like the 53rd state of america or however many states there are with the rich getting richer and the poor poorer.

What do ya mean will become like..... were almost the bl00dy 53rd state or however many the yanks have

but yeah that pic is so true unfortunately, but so many people need to be on it cos they cant get a job because of all the high taxes so everyone becomes a dual income family, and people dont like being on the dole in general cos it simply makes you feel so bad living (actually its just existing thats hard enough on the dole) on the government's handouts
