Speeding Joke

[Ace_VP]

Bloke orders a brand new Merc Convertible, top of the range with all the options.

After a six month wait it arrives and late one arvo he goes to the dealer and picks it up. He is driving home along the freeway and decides he is going to open it up and see how fast it really goes. Before he knows it he is nudging 200km/hr and realises he is breaking the law and if he gets caught he might loose his licence and not be able to drive it for a long time so he starts to slow down. As he does this he looks in his mirror and sees a highway patrol car coming up behind him with lights and sirens on.

He thinks of stopping and then thinks to himself, this is a merc he is only driving a commodore he wont be able to catch me if I speed off. So he slowly applies the accelerator and the speed climbs back up, 160, 170, 180, 190. Then he thinks to himself they will have helicopters and everything if i keep going so he pulls over and waits for the highway patrol car to catch up to him.

The officer stops and gets out of his car, he isnt happy. He says to the bloke, "Look mate, its 30mins from knock off time i cant be bothered doing the paper work so if you can give me an excuse I have never heard before I will let you go". The bloke thinks for a few seconds and says "Well its like this, my wife left me for a copper last week I thought you were trying to bring her back". "Have a nice day" the officer says, gets in his police car and drives off.
