How to wake your older sister up (or girlfriend, wife)

Came home at around 2am a few nights ago, i'd forgotten my keys and needed to get inside. Raining of course.
So i rang the doorbell... no answer.
Knocked... no answer.
Called my sister's mobile (she was the only one home), then the ridicuolously loud home phone... no answer.
Seemed like she was in a coma, and i wasn't gonna be getting inside. So i decided to throw my phone against her bedroom window, which is upstairs right above the front door. I have the good old Nokia tradies' phone, the black one that can handle anything.
After a few loud thumps against the window, she storms downstairs, opens the door and greases me off to all hell, and stomps back upstairs. Absolutely golden.
