    Default some f***ing people

So today at work i noticed an excel enter into the driveway towing double axle car trailer. I immediatly thought wtf. Told the rest of my work mates and had a bit of a laugh, anyway about ten minutes later i was talking to a customer and he told me that some d***heads were loading a HIACE VAN onto the back of this trailer, i started laughing and walked outside. They forgot to put someone in the van as they winched it up, so as soon as the weight of the band new hiace van was on the trailier, the back of the car dropped and the van slammed into the winch...lol. By that stage they had attracted a bit of a crowd. The back of the excel was literraly touching the ground, the front wheels where almost in the air. It was the dumbest/funniest thing i have seen. That poor excel would proabably of had roughly 800 kg towing limit, the wieght of the van and trailer would have been touching 2 tonnes. Some bloke in his hilux gave them a mouthful and then towed the trailer for them, even the desiel hilux struggled to pull it. I wanted to see the excel have a go. Anyways just thought id share that story.

more then one, even when the excel drove off with no trailer he had no idea! the hilux driver had to get out and like wave him to go.. seriously it's scary to think there are people like this. Imagine if that excel had to do an emergency stop? (assuming he could take off)

I saw a guy spin out on the highway once, towing some massive camper with a 4WD, guy had no idea, trailer started moving, he over-corrected at least 15 times before spinning himself around. Well before the trailer spun the 4WD around.

Another time my brother was trying to tow a few hundred kilos with a little 90's Hyundai Excel, the destination is at the top of this fairly steep road, the angled part is maybe 40m. He gets to the bottom, and really pushes the Excel to get it up. Massive RPM, gearbox smoking by the 10m mark. I tell him to stop being a dick, back it down to the bottom, then I hook it up to my EB Falcon with its 4.0L engine, which barely raised a puff getting the trailer up. My brother has his moments.

i got one. a mate bought a smashed up series 1 RX7 to strip for parts. he did that and then some local hillbillie wanted to buy the shell to make a bush basher or something, so it was arranged to be picked up one night. he's bringing a trailer for it so he says. anyway we're out the front saying to each other "surely this bloke is bringing a car trailer, i know its cleatus we're talking about here but surely even he's not silly enough to drag this home with a box trailer... i think" so anyway.

cleatus shows up with a box trailer??!!!! we are speechless. him and his helpers grab the back bumper (no diff/wheels under the RX7) and lift and skull drag it arse first onto this box trailer, well barely onto it. then they tie it on with the skinniest rope u have ever seen and take off! we followed them thru the back streets, front bar/crossmember scraping the ground sparks flying the whole way. we're laughing harder than ever at this saying "if it falls off we're out of here, im not hanging around for the aftermath of this!" (it wouldnt have gone far with no back wheels if it did fall off)

by some miracle cleatus makes it home, backs it down the driveway, takes the ropes off and says, "hmm how do i get this off?" then gets into the tow car, redlines it and dumps the clutch ripping the trailer out from under the RX7 shell sending it crashing to the ground from 3 odd feet in the air! unbelievable

YESSSS!!! hahahah. The guy in the hilux that ended up towing it looked at us and said what a f***ing d***head, he wasn't doing it to do them a favour, he did it to keep other road users safe.

some people have no clue, even on how to launch a boat. I remember ages ago me and the old man would go and watch the boat ramps for hours.

    Couple of dip-shit towing tales.

    1. My mates car was rear ended by a Datsun 180B, towing a surf boat - the old type of heavy timber job that takes a crew of about ten. It was raining at the time and Dippo hit the picks and the boat just shoved him for metres into the rear of Mike's car. I don't know what the boat and trailer would have weighed but I'd guess it was more than the Datsun.

    2. Travelling down the Pacific Highway in pouring rain going through Little Italy on the NSW North Coast. The highway had been ripped up for re-surfacing and in the rain, it was just pure mud. Bozo coming the other way in an old mid 80's Magna with a caravan, and the Magna was dragging its bum with the weight. Well, guess how much traction his FWD Magna had with the wheels hanging in the air, going along a greasy mud highway.

talking about trailers at boat ramps.... (seeing this thread is about trailers id say)
seen a person who has never driven a boat floor it onto the back of a trailer, nearly going through the rear windscreen of the 4wd towing the trailer (it actually stopped right up the trailer), im surprised it didnt go into the car and onto dry land. mind you this ramp was very short and the lake was not at full capacity, thus a very short ramp.. it was actually too short to probably put a jetski in.

oh and the dumbest thing with a boat trailer ive seen... trying to get a boat onto a trailer, while the rails for the boat to sit on are out of the water by a good 100mm. these people were at it for like a good 30mins. tempted to help but too much of a laugh. only to then see after they get it out, these ski rides people put their trailer in the water, the guy drives the boat on and takes it all out in about 15 seconds, faster then a pitstop (they do this every day though for multiple boats)

some really dumb people with trailers....
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that
