Default Australia is a funny place.

Does anyone else find it weird that a sausage shop like Bunnings also sells hammers?

I think he means that the only reason anyone should go to bunnings is to buy a sausage in bread.

I know every time I go to the local one here, they're always selling sausage sangers out the front.

The sausage sales are usually clubs generating money for themselves. Bunnings allow them to have them out front to gain customers. Nothing to do with Bunnings itself.....

This. Workshop manager at work does it every 6th week or something for his son's soccer club to raise money. The club buys the meat and drinks, does all the cooking, keeps all the money made (or eats the cost if they bought too much meat and sold bugger all). Bunnings is just accomodating them with somewhere that should get some decent foot traffic.

Exactly. It's a good way for a club to make a grand or two on a weekend. Bunnings supply the tent, BBQ and gas. The club's supply the rest. The price charged for sausage in bread and drinks are set by Bunnings too. At some stores there is a year long waiting list as it is a popular fund raiser.

Well my club has done them 3 times with no charge at all and I know of at least 3 other Community Groups who kept the entire takings.
