The very existance of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to do it.

Wicked.......years ago..Aussie band, The Angels, went to the USA......16 semi's, and when they were all lined up , the artwork on the side made a big mural.....after the 1st gig, the truckies took their rigs to the motel...crashed out...next morning....no semi's.......... :b: :b: :b: :b:
Beer bottle and the truck painted on the end are teh best..
I wonder why that tyre is up in the air...3rd from rear...... :my:
They do that on most trucks.
I think it acts like a spare tyre that you can use without having to change. Just lift one and drop the other. Don't take my word for it though.
I have seen it done on EMPTY trucks...save wear & tear on some tyres...but loaded????? definitely a Photo-chop.......................
They are called lift axles, they arent there as a spare they are there for savings on tyres mainly, if you run a light load you lift 1st or rear tri axles so as to not use 8 tyres in a single or 16 in a double. A very effective cost saving excercise, we are starting to implement them through our fleetOriginally Posted by rattattack1313
Most of our guys just run dual axles on rotation even on full payloads 45.5t single 68t b double
