The joy of having alzheimer's

Two old gentlemen suffering from alzheimers are in a nursing home, resting on the porch. One stand's up and says to his friend 'I think I will go to the shop, do you want anything?' His friend replies 'yes, can you get me an ice cream, but write it down or you will forget.'

First man: 'No I won't'
Second man: 'I want sprinkles on though, write it down'
First man: 'I will remember, ice cream with sprinkles'
Second man: 'I also want it dipped in chocolate, write it down.'
First man: 'Ice cream dipped in chocolate with sprinkles, see I can remember'
Second man: 'I also want it in a cornet, please write it down'
First man: 'No, I will remember all of that.'
Second man: 'I want a flake stuck in as well, you must write this down or you will forget'
First man: 'It's fine, I will remember, ice cream in a cornet dipped in chocolate with sprinkles and a flake.'

Thirty minutes later the first man returns from the shop and hands his friend a meat pie.

His friend looks at the pie and says 'I told you to write it down, I wanted sauce'
