I bought a car back about 1990 off a guy who owned a Cobra replica. It was some breed made here in Queensland (can't recall the name) and was very well put together...air con, power rack and pinion, huge brakes, wood dash and Smiths instruments, very classy. I got to drive it once after admiring it. It was fitted with a 351 running on LPG and a five speed box. I was taking it real easy and at 80km/hr the guy said happily "Whack her back to third and floor it!". Stupidly I did. After wild wheel spinning and getting it under control, it hooked up and took off and I saw God....

Although funnily a workmates old Cougar I was a passenger in back about 1987 was faster and the driver scared me more with it's acceleration and outright speed, even though it probably carried another 800kg weight...although it did make up for it with a tunnel-rammed twin four-barrel 427 big block....

Theirs something about Ford drivers that makes you worry... I know the feeling cause the scariest ride I have ever been in was in an Escort 2000...I've been in a mates cousins XY GT before he sold it...he lent it to my mate for a night of cruising...that was tame compared to the way this other guy drove his escort...there's something about small revy cars, highspeed roundabouts and corners on 2 wheels that screams let me out !!!!
