3:Catch fly

4:Place slip knot around flys neck

even better is to catch a horse fly and get a thin round piece of grass and stick it up it bum. not too far or it'll hit its brain and kill it but far enough to stick. then let it go and watch it fly around. sounds silly but is actually quite fun.
