    Default Ethics Test

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are in Darwin, NT. There is chaos all around you caused by a cyclone with severe flooding.

You are a photographic journalist working for a major newspaper and you're caught in the middle

of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot career making photos.

There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water.

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken

down with the debris. You move closer ... somehow the man looks familiar. You suddenly realise

who it is. It's John Howard. At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to pull him

    under.

You have two options, you can save the life of "Little Johnny" or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize

winning photo, documenting the death of the Australian Prime Minister.

So here's the question, and please be honest.

Would you select high contrast colour film or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

I'd save him, not cos I'm compassionate or anything like that, just think about it shoot a photo you get famous, perhaps infamous for letting him die. Save him your an instant hero and got johnny owing u big time.

given the situation i think my natural instincts would take over and the thought of taking a picture wouldnt even cross my mind. however once having pulled "little johnny" from the water there would be plenty of time for photo opertunities wilst we wait for a rescue helicopter and watch the rest of the population wash by in the rising water gasping for air. and to answer your question, i would choose color as black and white wouldnt depict the horror and dispair you would see in the poor mans pigmentation of the face.

If it were Costello, wouldn't he be pushing him under? Anyway, we'd have to have another election, so I'd save him! Yeah seriously though, I'd save him. I kinda like the bloke....
